Forum on the maintenance/overhaul of lawn bowl greens

Our indoor carpet green and the two outdoor real grass greens have been in use for over twenty years. Despite careful maintenance they are now beyond repairs. The poor drainage of the outdoor Green A near the bar is such that it is soggy and unplayable for days whenever it rains. Scheduled matches had to be postponed many times. Overhauls are badly needed. These involve huge costs, extended project time, as well as early arrangements to accommodate heavy league schedules. A forum immediately after the Boxing Day Tournament was held to seek bowlers’ views on the way forward. We welcome any further views and suggestions.
