RACKETLON (Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennis, Squash)

Sports / 7 February, 2025

The 2025 Hong Kong Racketlon Open, proudly hosted at our Club from 7 – 9 February 2025, marked another milestone as Hong Kong’s premier international Racketlon event. CCC proudly sponsored our venue for this event. Following its elevation to the International World Tour (IWT) level, this year’s tournament attracted elite athletes from 11 countries, competing across table tennis, badminton, squash, and tennis. Each discipline featured thrilling 21-point matches, with total cumulative scores determining the champions.

This year, Member Kevin Ng took on the pivotal role of Head Referee, ensuring fair play and seamless execution across all matches. The Hong Kong team continued its dominance with standout performances. Steven Cheng, Chan Tsz Yan, Ho Tze Ho, Fung Tsz Cheong, Ho Suet Ying and Stephanie Chung won four gold medals in the elite categories (mixed doubles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles). The event also attracted Prof. Herman Hu, former Vice President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, who clinched the silver medal in the 60+ category.

Mr. Duncan Stahl, President of Federation of International Racketlon, visited Hong Kong to oversee the competition. He praised the event for being well-organized and noted that the venue met top standards. He expressed his pleasure in witnessing Hong Kong host the Racketlon Open for the second consecutive year and looks forward to holding the event in Hong Kong again next year.

Given the significant scale of this year’s competition, the Federation of International Racketlon (FIR) is planning to elevate Hong Kong to the Super World Tour (SWT) level, which will substantially increase the weighting of world ranking points. This upgrade is expected to attract even more elite international athletes to compete in Hong Kong in the future.
