Braidwood Centre for Cricket Development

The origins of Craigengower cricket date from our founding in 1894 by a Scot Headmaster – William Drew Braidwood, “to teach school boys to play the game”.

Cricket at the club is focused on our indoor facility – the “Braidwood Centre for Cricket Development”.  Opened in 2013, the Braidwood, located on the 2nd floor of the Sports Building, remains only the second indoor net in Hong Kong.

The “Braidwood” is:

1. home for our domestic squads;

2. a high-performance training venue for Cricket Hong Kong China (CHKC) – their Hong Kong representative woman’s and junior squads, and the CHKC elite local representative side “the Dragons”;

3. one of only two facilities for the ever-expanding CHKC men’s and women’s Indoor Leagues; and

4. the venue for our special Community Service outreach programmes which also help take cricket to the community-at-large.
